Antique Ceiling Fans Electrical Question For Old Wiring?

Electrical question for old wiring? - antique ceiling fans

I have an antique shop and I try to install a new fan ceilimg. The table has only one black and one white wire to the ceiling. I know where to connect the fan of the color of the thread in touch - but I can lay the ground? If I close the black wire and white wire?

They have nothing on this site. You should not get in touch to be the son of white or black ground terminal. Definitely not black, perfect.

The fan will work well. Grounding is a safety feature. Due to the location of the fan has, no country should not constitute a personal risk. Installing without the box, in this circumstance permitted under the National Code of electricity.

There is no basis in a system of two son, next to the Snip.

Black cable is the voltage of your hotline drive his fans, and the white wire is neutral or return line. Connect the green! Like someone said, is a fan in a position that should the absence of the country does not really hurt but if it is a fairly easy (to find a common denominator) as a hookah, I sent a green or bare wire for the fan.

If a path does not work, make sure that an isolated light switch is thrown. In general, there is a metal link chain that makes the switch. When you run for any reason, you should see the chain that can come with the fan and pull ... ensure that they are never in contact with metal objects, the (remote) could come as a shock.

Perhaps the soil from the plumbing (which has many old houses) and maybe you can take a course closer to the ground cable.

Remember, excessive stress, such as flash through the floor, if it exists, otherwise the device itself, and travels frequently lead to travel damage. It might also be shocked if a part of the body is not wet soil. In the 60 years, always "Zapped" after leaving the tub and turn on the light switch.

old wiring has no height or you can run a # 12, a water pipe or ground rod outside, but no connection to the black

Hire a professional to do it right the first time. Problem solved.

Not one, or I will blow the fuse / switch, or fry the fan. You either have to rewire the house to add a field or separated from the soil.

Back in the day, it was customary to connect a ground wire separate doses. Then run along the wire to a water pipe or chain all the fields and take the wire to a ground rod.

If your house has a screened cable will act as the steel-plate floor.

It is also possible that the picture is not on land for nothing.

The probability that a person makes a shock when touched a ceiling fan is very low, because the ceiling fan and the people on Earth.

Simply connect the grounding wire to the metal box. Whatever you do connect the white wire or black.

The only place where the white wire is connected to land in the service door.

Connect the ground to the field. Connect the black and white. If the fan is to be on a conductive ground that the fan is connected to ground. If more than a wooden floor or carpet is not so important. But through the code, all metal parts must be grounded. It's about your life, if something goes wrong. If no reason can be fed from a GFI protected circuit, to follow the code and be safe.

When wiring corosponding bottom of the box, connect the fan to the ground or other wires. However, it could be a ground screw in the box that the fan would come on the floor in touch.
